I just bought my first lizard and I am looking for some pointers. Any advice would be great. I would like to know if its male or female. How old it is and how big it will get. I could also use some pointers on feeding. How often, how much. Should I dust the crickets? All that info. Any help you could give me would be great.

You should really of read about care before buying your new pet, but I guess its too late now, I don't know about the species, but a quick search on www.geckoworld.co.uk/forumgave me the 'scientific name' or whatever you want to call it (its Christinus marmoratus). and then I search for 'Christinus marmoratus care' on google and found this caresheet for you www.reptileforums.com/care_sheets/lizards/marbled_gecko.htmI'm sure you would be able to find more if you search for it on google. As for dusting, if s/he looks to be young go for dusting the food once every 2 feedings. Good luck with your new pet! ;D

Thanks, but I did research it before I bought it. I read all of the care sheets. I just couldnt find all of the answers I am looking for. I figured that actual gecko owners might have pointers that arent on the care sheets. Thanks anyway. And as far as the dusting, I dont know whether or not my gecko is a junenile or an adult. I am not sure how to tell and the lady wasnt very informative.

Well you can look at how big it is, if its an adult, it will be around the size it says they grow up to on the caresheet(s).
Sorry, I wasn't sure how much research you would of done, I get what you mean about asking gecko owners.
I have never had any of my geckos sexed 'proffesionaly' but the difference will probably be obvious if yours is adult, I think it would be easier to tell if it is a male though.
